I did not start out wanting to make a sculpture of Moses when I created this piece.  We had a nude male model take a pose with his arms above his head.  Once the pose was finished I took it back to my studio and changed it a lot, adding clothing and hair as well.  I wanted a piece that transmits power, drama, turmoil and fury.
