During 2011, when I released this edition, “Babe in the Manger”, I was on a farming kick and had rented some land. I bought two pigs, two goats, ducks and chickens. By the end of the year I realized that I could not spend so much time tending these animals and had to get back to more sculpting, although I did greatly enjoy tending my animals and feeling like a farmer. I sold them all except the chickens and ducks, which we still enjoy getting eggs from. In memory of my animal escapades, I made this sculpture of Baby Jesus with the animals.
